Leah.  Another Shelf Bride.  I forget the groom's name, which shames me as he is a glorious person.  His name is Jay and he finished his doctorate and has a job at some Ivy Leage I think.

After she dumped him, he came back to the Shelf and took his lumps and kept on truckin'.

She was referred to in literature as Ancient Marinade.

I think his SN was Dica something.

Dicaepolis--if memory serves.  His name is Jay.

Wow, what a weird thing to stumble across, while f$@#ing around online, as a reasonably innocent party: we shouldn't have married, I suppose, as loving someone can't overcome everything, but he dumped me, not the other way around, and there are two sides to every story.  And whether marinade or not, I'm not THAT old.  Sadly, finding this strange and somewhat vitriolic post puts a stop to my ever wondering affectionately whatever happened to the fine people from the Shelf, etc, with whom I lost contact.  You don't need my permission to delete, if you feel an answered "slam" is inappropriate, but you have it. --Leah (not logged in, but not hiding or trolling either: still ancntmarnr but now at gmail)

I met Jay and Leah when they lived in Philly. He was drinking beer and watching "Grease." She was etherally lovely, with a rad tat of a phoenix on her thigh. Who got custody of that awful dog, that spent my entire visit chewing on varous parts of my anatomy? Her name was Terpsichore, I think.

Both were scholars: he, Latin and Greek, she, Irish studies.
